Trade Education & Workforce Development

At Community Care Development Network (CCDN), we are committed to providing equitable access to education and career pathways that lead to meaningful employment and economic mobility. Our Trade Education & Workforce Development Program is designed to equip individuals with the skills, credentials, and support needed to succeed in today’s competitive workforce.

Through strategic partnerships and a comprehensive approach, we offer career readiness, hands-on trade training, healthcare certification programs, and wraparound services that prepare youth, adults, and families for long-term success.

Each of these partners plays a critical role in helping us deliver high-quality, high-impact workforce development programming that transforms lives and strengthens families and communities.

 

Program Offerings
Alabama Career Essentials (ACE) / In partnership with The Alabama Community College System and Lawson State Community College

This foundational course provides critical training in workforce readiness. Participants learn essential soft skills, digital literacy, professional communication, and problem-solving. Graduates earn the ACE credential, recognized by employers and educational institutions across the state of Alabama.

HBI Skills to Trade Construction Program / In partnership with the Home Builders Institute

This hands-on construction training program prepares participants for careers in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other skilled trades. In addition to technical instruction, participants gain industry-recognized certifications, safety training, and direct access to apprenticeships and job placement support.

Healthcare Training Programs / In partnership with Ball Healthcare Services, The Women's Foundation of Alabama, and GoodJobs Program

We offer healthcare certifications for entry-level careers in:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

  • Phlebotomy

  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification

 

These programs equip participants with the credentials and clinical training needed to secure jobs in the fast-growing healthcare sector.

Pathways to Economic Stability


As a key part of our TANF-Fatherhood Initiative and overall strengthening families support model, the Trade Education & Workforce Development Program provides more than just training. We address barriers to employment by integrating:

 

  • Case management

  • Transportation assistance

  • Job placement support

  • Access to essential needs and resources

 

With the support of the GoodJobs Program and funders like The Women’s Foundation of Alabama, we’re building a stronger, more inclusive workforce—one family at a time.
