Community Care Development Network is proud to be a co-sponsor of this event. This is a Hiring Event for formerly incarcerated individuals. If you are having trouble finding employment you need to be at this event. Over 50 employers with over 500 available positions. Resources were also available such as housing, medical, and transportation.
Great event today at the Second Chance Hiring Fair! Justice-involved individuals face huge barriers and frequent discrimination when it comes to obtaining employment, long after paying their dues in the criminal justice system. Dignified employment is a basic human right outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Thanks to all of these great organizations and employers that understand that someone’s past shouldn’t dictate their future. ~Kacy Keith via LinkedIn
The Second Chance Hiring Event was an opportunity provided to individuals who were justice involved or formerly incarcerated. This event held at The Boutwell Auditorium was structured to engage and recruit employers who hire individuals with misdemeanor and felony backgrounds. The process of obtaining employment after an encounter with law enforcement especially for an extended amount of time is very difficult for individuals returning home from the jail/prison systems. District Attorney Danny Carr along with other community partners wanted to develop a strategy to help those returning citizens.
